Websters Dictionary defines a shipbroker as "anyone who supplies or serves
a vessel in port or in Owners seeking of cargoes for their vessels". Shipbrokers specialize in specific commodities
and types of cargo such as dry or liquid. Tanker brokers are brokers who generally handle petroleum products, both
clean and dirty. International Tanker Chartering specializes in the niche of chemicals and organic acids that require
special handling.
Shipbrokers are further divided between those using their expertise on behalf of Owners or Charterer's. International
Tanker Chartering falls into the latter category. We specialize in representing the Charterer's interests, hence,
our letterhead describes us as Chartering Brokers as opposed to Shipbrokers.
